Leah Bevis

Associate Professor, Ohio State University

Dr. Bevis's research focuses on linkages between human welfare and biophysical systems in low income countries, a subject at the nexus of development and resource economics. She is also investigating linkages between soil minerals, crop mineral content and human health in both Uganda and Ethiopia. A separate strand of her research examines intergenerational income and human capital transmission --- in particular the role of maternal education and maternal health on later life child outcomes. Dr. Bevis is co-leading with Dr. Michler a $1.25m grant from SPIA that studies the dynamics of CGIAR agricultural innovations in Uganda.
